What foods can not be used with medicines

Do you know that there are medications that do not combine with products?  Then we will tell a little about it.

1. Bananas, leafy greens, oranges are rich in potassium.  You should not combine these products with ACE inhibitors, such as captopril, enalapril and fosinopril.  ACE inhibitors dilate blood vessels, and potassium speeds up the heartbeat and can cause arrhythmias.

2. Milk is rich in calcium, which affects the action of antibiotics.  Don’t take milk, yogurt, cheese with quinolone antibiotics such as tetracycline, ciprofloxacin.  Wait at least a few hours before or after taking the antibiotic.  This also applies to supplements.

3. Do not drink coffee with antipsychotic drugs (clozapine, antipsychotics), as well as bronchodilators for asthma.  Drinking with the former can lead to side effects, and with the latter – to reduce the effect of the drug.

4. Alcohol should not be taken with any medicine at all.  But there are special groups of drugs that, in combination with alcohol, can cause irreparable harm to the body: painkillers and sedatives, antihistamines, antibiotics, HIV drugs.

5. Grapefruit is not compatible with lipid / statin modifying agents, such as Buspirone, Quinine, the antibiotic Erythromycin, and Triozalam insomnia medication.
